New Nurses

Two new nurses waiting to serve you

Indian Health Care Resource Center of Tulsa (IHCRC) has added another Public Health Nursing (PHN) position to better ensure our patients' public health needs are being met. Both Gloria Jones and Tanya Fellows- Baldwin are registered nurses. The two nurses work together to provide patient and prevention education, to assist the dietitians with the diabetes program, to assist with the women's health program, and to report pathogens in Oklahoma, including hepatitis and STDs. Both nurses are available to IHCRC patients and neither nurse is assigned to any one patient.

Gloria Jones, RN, BSN

Gloria Jones, RN has worked as the Public Health Nurse at IHCRC on several occasions since 1997. Gloria earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Oklahoma Wesleyan University in 2002. In January of 2009, she left employment with IHCRC to move to Honolulu, Hawaii with her husband. In May, she moved back to Oklahoma and rejoined the IHCRC family. Gloria began her military career in 1970 as the 32nd woman to ever be elected to serve in the United States Coast Guard. She re-entered our military services by joining the US Navy in 1980 and served until her honorable discharge in 1993. Gloria and several of her family members were each honored in 2008 by the Cherokee Nation with both the Cherokee Warrior Award and the Medal of Patriotism with ribbon for their years of service to our country.

Tanya Fellows-Baldwin, RN

Tanya Fellows-Baldwin, RN joined IHCRC in May of 2009. Tanya has previously worked as a Public Health Nurse for the Tulsa City-County Health Department and a Nurse Extern for the Oklahoma State Medical Center. She is a member of the Oklahoma Association of Public Health Nurses. Tanya's volunteer efforts include the Tulsa Police Department's Back to School Immunization and School Supply Drive, the Tulsa Health Department's Mass Flu Drive-thru Clinics and the American Red Cross STAY Teacher. Tanya earned an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from the Oklahoma State University and an Associates of Applied Science in Health with a concentration in Surgical Technology from the Georgia Perimeter College. Although Tanya is a native Tulsan having graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1988, she lived in Atlanta for 16 years. She is fond of swimming and is a former lifeguard.
